Magic: The Gathering
A collectible card game (CCG) released by Wizards of the Coast (WotC) in 1993.
The rules of MTG are extensive and complicated - the current ruleset is only 200 pages plus a 50 page glossary - but the truth is that just about any rule can be overridden or modified by a card or effect. The cards themselves have accumulated extensive errata and even redefinitions over the years.
Space
Space is abstract. There is a standard layout for how to organize your cards on the table, but the exact position or ordering of cards in the permanents area and the player’s hand is not dictated by the game’s rules or make any difference (except for that one time it did - Chaos Orb). The order of the player’s libray and graveyard, however, are important and governed by the rules, and taken advantage of by specific cards.
Time
Typical for a card game, play is divided into turn cycles with each player taking their turn in an order determined before the game starts. Each turn is divided in to phases, where specific actions are allowed.
Combat
Combat is broken into phases, with damage delt simultaneously. being completely resolved after the assignment of damage. Damage does not carry over to the next turn, nor do any temporary effects. (Again, there’s probably a card that changes these rules.)
By default, units engaged in combat deal damage simultaneously, meaning they can double KO each other. Some abilities like First Strike allow a unit to deal damage first.
